Spike in Car Sales Push Chrysler Car Dealers to the Top for November

Ourisman Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram is thrilled that new car sales are up! November was the best month all year for new car sales in the United States, especially at Chrysler car dealers like Ourisman.

Despite the still hobbling economy, Americans apparently couldn’t put off those new car purchases any longer. At the end of October, new car sales totaled 12.6 million for the year. By the end of November, that number had jumped to 13.5 million for the year. Chrysler cars took the biggest share of those sales with a 45% increase over November 2010 sales. Chrysler Group LLC closed out the month with the highest sales increase of any auto manufacturer.

Chrysler dealerships in Virginia and all along the Eastern seaboard attributed much of the increase specifically to sales of the 2012 Chrysler 200 sedan. The new model was introduced in 2011 as an updated, technology-infused replacement for the Chrysler Sebring.

The sedan offers 283-horsepower from a V6 engine that delivers fuel economy of 21 city/31 hwy mpg and is available in several trims. The Chrysler 200 LX, a 2.4L 4-cyl. 4-speed automatic, starts the 200 lineup with a starting MSRP of $18,995. The Chrysler 200 Touring upgrades the automatic transmission to a 6-speed and has a starting MSRP of $21,370.

Buyers wanting more connectivity than the average car buyer should head straight for the top two Chrysler 200 models. The Chrysler 200 Limited starts at MSRP $24,070 and includes a CD/DVD/MP3/HDD media center with USB port, 6.5-inch touch screen, steering wheel audio controls, optional Bluetooth® connectivity, and leather-trimmed heated bucket seats.

At the top of the line sits the Chrysler 200 S at a starting MSRP of $26,365. Its leather steering wheel, Boston Acoustics® speakers, leather and suede heated bucket seats and 60/40 rear seat trunk pass-through add a touch of luxury to the convenience of a moderately priced sedan.

Edmunds.com says the 2012 Chrysler 200 sedan is, “pleasant to drive and features strong interior materials that few in the class can better.”

November sales of the 2012 Chrysler 200 increased 496% over November 2010.
